Now that the guest bathroom is all wrapped up, the hubby and I are refocusing our efforts on the living room/dining room/kitchen area. We have a great room space where we do the majority of, well, everything--eating, entertaining, TV watching, blogging. It all happens in one big space. It's great for encouraging time spent together. But it also means that the space needs to be versatile. Whatever we do out there needs to work with the tiling in the kitchen, as well as the couches.
We've made some big decisions for where we want to take the space. There will be more window coverings for sure. Paint, too. And I'm about 80 percent sure we're going to trade a 5x8 rug for carpeting by the couches. But we'll get to all of that eventually. Today it's about the paint.
One of the front running wall colors is a sage green, which is essentially a neutral. Plus, we have a teeny, tiny bit of green tiling in our kitchen backsplash, so it plays with that.
I'm thinking of something like this:
Of course, we've got another front runner for color ideas, but I'll get to that later. For now, I'm basking in the glow of green.
