Butterfly garden update and contest winner

Last week was a perfect synchronicity of my real world coinciding with my blog world. I had a guest post on another blog about butterfly gardens, and then lo and behold, a swarm of caterpillars took over my dill. I've grown dill before without any unexpected guests, so it was a real shock to see this:

Then, imagine my surprise again to walk out on Friday and see this:

That'd be my former dill, the former home to the black swallow caterpillars. The best that I can figure is that birds had a feast after the little guys feasted on my herbs. Imagine me signing "The Circle of Life" now.

Oh well... At least the birds in the neighborhood are happy...
